In partnership with the National debate Council, Uganda AIDS Commission engaged students throughout the country to debate HIV/AIDS related issues. In total, 151 schools participated in these debates and more than 100,000 students were reached with HIV/AIDS messages.

Throughout the country one Topic was debated: This house supports rather than treatment in the fight against HIV/AIDS. This was the major topic but others about disclosure, the role of leaders, parents and church in the fight against HIV/AIDS were discussed.

This was a far reaching activity to engage the youth in the fight against the epidemic. Students researched and discussed so much in the areas of Prevention and treatment. The debates ended on December 5th 2017 at Parliament with students debating with Members of Parliament on whether to make testing compulsory.
