Parliamentary response The role of elected political leaders in the fight against HIV/AIDS cannot be underestimated. Besides ensuring a conducive policy environment for implementing national priorities and resource management, members of Parliament have a role to play in mass mobilization and sensitization against the epidemic. A Parliamentary Standing Committee on HIV/AIDS was in 2002 established to spearhead the responses of the Parliament of Uganda with specific terms of reference . Members of this Committee have among other activities made a maiden visit to selected districts around the country to assess progress on the implementation of the national program. A report is due for discussion in the House. This site presents reports of activities of Parliament including public statements and information on efforts by individual members of the House in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
